Everybody loves an extra bedroom! Whether you want a master bedroom for ultra privacy for yourselves, or a guest bedroom to use when family or friends stay over, a basement is the perfect place to set up a guest room. A bedroom is not complicated to set up. Just make sure your basement is properly finished with details like ventilation, dampness, lighting and flooring taken care of before you begin accessorizing and setting up your own bedroom.
An extra bedroom adds to the livability of your Minneapolis area home. An extra bedroom in any home always raises the equity value of the home -- houses with more number of bedrooms sell for a higher price. With an extra bedroom tucked away in your basement, you have a guest room for when your in-laws come visiting or when your kids get older and need a space of their own.

I would like to finish my basement. Approximately 400 sq. feet to finish. Need framed and drywalled 25 feet of wall with 8.5 foot ceilings (rest of framing/drywall is already complete). 2 doors installed to provide access to a storage area and a bathroom. Bathroom finishing to include toilet, sink, and shower (all standard level quality). We plan to use a drop ceiling and will need to adjust electrical to include recessed lighting and possible addition of 3-4 outlets. May need hvac update--not sure here. Home is 5 years old.
